Who is Dr. Akeel?
Dr. Ed Akeel graduated from Alexandria University Faculty of Dentistry, located in Egypt, in 1981. The doctor moved to the United States and attended NYU from 1981-83 for the transfer of his credentialing. He was licensed to practice dentistry in America in 1984. He began as an associate several years before he opened his first practice in 1987, located in Queens, NY. In 1991 he opened a second practice in Oneonta, NY. When looking for a slower pace of life, close to the beach and to the mountains, he found Charlottesville! In 1999 he moved to Virginia with his family and wife. He worked as a part-time associate and commuted (via his personal plane-flying is his passion!) between Charlottesville and New York. He did this for 10 years until his associate in New York bought him out of both practice locations. His full time work in Charlottesville began in 2009.
Over the years he has completed many CE programs and with the help of Georgia Medical College; he is an expert in implant placement and procedures!
